Faubion Honors Orchestra to Perform at Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago
The Faubion Honors Orchestra is one of only two middle school orchestras to receive the prestigious invitation to perform at the Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference to be held Dec. 20–22, 2023, in Chicago. The NCAA Division II National Football Championship returns to McKinney ISD Stadium on Saturday, December 14, 2023 as the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers meet the Harding University Bisons. Hosted by the Lone Star Conference and McKinney ISD, this year’s championship match up should be a good one as both teams seek their first Division II national title.
MISD High Schools Earn Gold, Silver and Additional Special Recognition on 2023 AP® School Honor Roll
All three McKinney ISD high schools have earned 2023 AP® (Advanced Placement®) School Honor Roll recognition from College Board. McKinney Boyd High School earned Gold and the special Access Award, and McKinney High School and McKinney North High School each earned Silver distinction.

MISD Earns Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations from Texas Association of School Business Officials
McKinney ISD has received the TASBO Award of Merit for Purchasing, which was established in 2009 to recognize Texas school districts that are committed to following professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services.
MISD CTE Tours Help 8th Graders Chart a Course for High School and Beyond
The McKinney ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) program held its annual CTE Tours on Nov. 6–7 and Nov. 10 at the MISD Community Event Center. The tours gave 8th graders a chance to check out the CTE offerings from McKinney Boyd High School, McKinney High School and McKinney North High School, to ask questions and begin to chart a course for high school with specific careers in mind.

The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2024–2025 MISD school calendar at their regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 13, and it is now available on the MISD website.

95 MISD Juniors and Seniors Earn 97 National Merit and College Board Recognitions
This fall, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of 22 McKinney ISD seniors from McKinney Boyd High School, McKinney High School and McKinney North High School whose outstanding results on the PSAT/NMSQT earned them recognition as Commended Scholars and 7 who earned the highly prestigious designation of National Merit Semifinalist. In addition, College Board announced the names of 18 MISD students honored in the National African American Recognition Program, 42 who were honored in the National Hispanic Recognition Program, 6 who earned distinction in the National Indigenous Recognition Program and 2 who were honored in the National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program for their exceptional performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10 or AP Exams.
