Questions & Concerns

Durham is committed to providing the safest and highest-quality service. BusReport provides parents, residents and our district staff the opportunity to log real-time feedback, including service recognition, requests or concerns.

  • BusReport is designed to:

  • Record feedback in real-time

  • Provide timely response from Durham

  • Create actionable results

  • Log all events, results and driving trends for coaching

A portal for our parents, guardians, and general public can be found at www.BusReport.com or 1-833-BUS-REPORT (1-833-287-7376). BusReport will help ensure each piece of feedback is received, logged, tracked and acted upon in a timely manner. Furthermore, the feedback system will provide email updates to the user throughout the review process.

Examples of bus safety concerns include, but are not limited to:

  • Erratic or unsafe driving

  • Stop arm on the bus not functioning or not being utilized when the bus stops

  • Driver texting or utilizing an electronic device while driving

  • Mechanical condition of the bus (bald tires, faulty brakes, brake lights or head lights not operating properly, etc.)

  • Conduct of the bus driver

  • Bus overcrowding (more students than seats on the bus)

When reporting a safety concern, please include as many details as possible, including the bus number, location, specific details, etc. This will help Durham in the investigation process.

If needed, you may call the dispatcher at 972-542-8316. These lines will have someone available from 5:30 AM until 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday. Due to high call volumes, if the phone lines are busy, please leave a message or enter a BusReport.

Bus Eligibility

Transportation is available for children who reside two or more miles from their assigned campus of regular attendance, measured along the shortest route that may be traveled on public roads. The distance a student lives from their assigned school is determined by measuring the distance from the school's nearest property line to the student's home nearest property line.

Bus Registration

Students who are eligible for bus transportation services and wish to receive bus transportation must do so when they complete their Online Registration. Students must be registered with McKinney ISD for transportation services to be added to a bus route by Durham. Your student will be routed once their online registration has been submitted to McKinney ISD and received by Durham. It may take up to ten (10) business days to complete the routing process following the online registration submittal. Route information is updated in the parent HAC (Home Access Center).

If you have moved, it is your responsibility to contact your campus so the information can be updated in the system.

Questions regarding your student’s transportation should be sent through Durham's BusReport tracking system.

Student Discipline

McKinney ISD’s Student Code of Conduct prohibits certain behaviors, defines standards of acceptable behavior on and off campus as well as on District vehicles and consequences for violation of these standards. The rules of student conduct extends to the school bus. There are additional rules that require compliance on board school buses to comply with safety protocols. School bus transportation is a privilege. Failure to comply with Student Code of Conduct and safety protocols may result in suspension of transportation services.

Bus Routes

Once a student is routed by Durham, bus route information can be found in the parent HAC (Home Access Center).

Potential Hazard Routes

McKinney ISD analyzes potential hazardous routes each year and they are determined by criteria such as major thoroughfares and sidewalk or pedestrian access to the school, and other safety factors.
