McKinney, Texas – The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2024–2025 MISD school calendar at their regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 13, and it is now available on the MISD website.

The 2024-2025 school year will begin on Aug. 8, 2024, and will conclude on May 22, 2025, with graduation for all three high schools planned for Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen.

“The district had several goals while putting together the 2024–2025 calendar,” said Dr. Shelly Spaulding, MISD assistant superintendent of communications and public relations. “It was important that it remain in line with Collin College and neighboring districts, that the school year would conclude before Memorial Day and that it would again this year include a Fall Break for students and teachers. And, we were able to achieve all of those goals.”

Parents and students will want to take note of the following student holidays built into the calendar:

September 2 — Labor Day
October 11–15 — Fall Break
November 25-29 — Thanksgiving
December 23–January 3 — Winter Holiday
January 20 — MLK Day
February 17 — Holiday
March 17–21 — Spring Break
April 18 — Good Friday

The calendar also includes two Bad Weather Make-up Days (April 14, 2025, and April 28, 2025) that will be used as student holidays if they are not used as make-up days.

Also included are six teacher workdays before the start of school, teacher exchange days in October and May, and staff development days throughout the year.
