Parents can enroll their new students to McKinney ISD as well as update their returning student’s information through our online registration process, or by visiting the school the student is zoned for. This is determined by the student’s physical home address. Please review McKinney ISD’s School Locator to determine which school a child is zoned for.

Before you make any relocation decisions, please contact the front office of the school listed on the search, to verify the address’ home campus.

Prior to visiting the campus, it is recommended that parents complete the online registration forms for each new student.

There are two online registration modules, one for new to district students and one for returning students. To obtain more information and complete the online registration process, please visit either the 2019-20 New Student Enrollment page or the Returning Student Enrollment page found in this section of the website.

New student registration for 2020-21 KG – 5th graders will be held from April 28th – May 27th. The registration forms for the 2020-21 school year will become available on April 13, 2020. Please check back at that time to begin your registration process. If you complete forms prior to this time you will be asked to redo this process.

Requirements Needed to Enroll

The following information is required for new students to enroll in McKinney ISD schools.

  • Proof of Residency – Must be a current utility bill, gas, water or electric, house contract with closing date and/or lease with signatures. If the closing or moving date is after September 1 of the current school year, monthly tuition payments shall be made until the closing date per MISD Board Policy.
  • Student’s Social Security Card (optional)
  • Student’s Birth Certificate
  • Updated Shot Records
  • Secondary students will need to have a copy of their school transcripts when registering.

Grade Level Caps

McKinney ISD is one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. Therefore, it is not uncommon for grade levels to become full at campuses in fast-growth areas. Therefore, students moving into an area in which the grade level is capped may be asked to attend another school.
