MISD Board Approves Minor Adjustments to School Boundaries for Actively Developing Subdivisions
Due to the accelerated housing development within the current attendance zones for Frazier Elementary, Press Elementary, Scott Johnson Middle School and McKinney North High School, the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved minor adjustments to the school boundaries for the 2024-2025 school year. These adjustments aim to avoid the imminent overcrowding of these schools experiencing fast housing growth.

McKinney ISD School Board Approves Strategic Plan
The McKinney ISD Strategic Plan was accepted by the Board on January 22, 2024. Mr. Pratt will determine the year to begin each action plan, designate a point person overseeing implementation, and establish an evaluation system.
The Strategic Plan becomes a part of the District Plan, Campus Plans, and Community-Based Accountability. Under the leadership of the Board of Trustees and Mr. Pratt, McKinney ISD’s Strategic Plan will serve as the roadmap for transforming the district and turning the vision into reality for McKinney students, staff, and community.

Sperry, Dankel and O’Dell Sworn in at May Board Meeting
Three returning members of the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees were sworn in during the monthly board meeting on Tuesday, May 16, at the MISD Community Event Center. The swearing in followed elections held on May 6 that saw Place 4, Place 5 and Place 6 up for re-election.
McKinney ISD Board Makes it Official! Shawn Pratt Welcomed as New Superintendent
On Wednesday, March 22, the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name Shawn Pratt superintendent of McKinney ISD. The vote took place during a special public meeting and marked the conclusion of the state-required 21 day waiting period that was observed after Pratt was named the lone finalist for the job.
