The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded McKinney ISD the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 2020, the most recent year evaluated by the organization. It’s the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting that is granted by GFOA.

McKinney ISD to Receive $16.5 Million in Relief Funds, Will Lower Tax Rate More than Expected

McKinney ISD received some welcome news when details were recently announced about the state’s Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER). The grant fund was authorized as part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP), that was signed into law in March 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. McKinney ISD will receive approximately $16.5 million in relief funds and must expend the funds by September 2024.

CLC and McKinney ISD Announce Food Distributions to Feed Hungry Collin County Families

Community Lifeline Center (CLC) and McKinney ISD have partnered to provide a “Feeding Friends and Families” food distribution on Thursday, May 27th from 9 AM to 11 AM. The event will be held at the McKinney ISD Stadium and Community Event Center, located at 4201 S Hardin Blvd, McKinney, TX 75070. This no-touch, drive through, food distribution will provide needed resources to those that are food insecure in our community. Each family will receive a selection of shelf-stable items including fruits, vegetables, and proteins. They will also receive a selection of fresh produce as well as dairy products. Since the onset of the pandemic, CLC has distributed more than 1,000,000 pounds of food through their “Feeding Friends and Families” program.

New MISD Board Members Sworn In After May Elections
