Summer School 2023
PK-K English Learner Summer ProgramTo be eligible for enrollment, a student must be eligible for kindergarten or grade 1 during the 2023-2024 school year, be identified as an English Learner, and have parental/guardian approval for bilingual/ESL program placement.
The purpose of the summer school program: 1) Our youngest English learners shall have an opportunity to receive special instruction designed to prepare them to be successful in kindergarten and first grade. 2) Instruction shall focus on language development and essential knowledge and skills appropriate to the level of the student. 3) The program shall address the affective, linguistic and cognitive needs of English learners.

Elementary Newcomer Summer Enrichment ProgramThe Elementary Newcomer Summer Enrichment Program (ENSEP) will provide students who are new to the country and whose primary language is not English with the vocabulary and grammatical structures needed for both school performance and everyday living. During this time, the students will develop language acquisition and cognitive academic language skills by using sound instructional techniques. This program will provide students the opportunity to grasp the academic, social, and cultural aspects of the English language through the teaching of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
ENSEP is by invitation only for those students:
– currently enrolled in grades 1st-5th grade
– identified as LEP
– within their first 2 years of US enrollment
– language assessment results of beginner and intermediate
