Ask the Team of Eight
The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees has established an easier way for community members to connect with them.
Individuals are invited to “Ask the Team of Eight” by emailing their questions to [email protected]. The Board President or the Superintendent will either respond to the email or direct the message to the appropriate department. Copies of Team of Eight emails are distributed to all Trustees. Board members will receive ongoing updates regarding the issues or questions that are submitted.
People needing to reach out to the Board of Trustees concerning a specific school, teacher, or child are encouraged to begin at the level closest to the concern. For example:
Level 1
If it is a concern with an individual student or assignment/subject it is more effective to contact the student’s teacher or guidance counselor.
Level 2
If it is a school-wide concern, you should contact the Principal first.
Level 3
If the concern pertains to a specific department, please reach out to the Assistant Superintendent responsible for the relevant area: Business, Operations, Technology , Elementary Student Support, Secondary Student Support, Communications, or Human Resources.
Level 4
If your question or concern relates to the entire district, your next step would be to get in touch with the Superintendent.
Level 5
Individuals seeking to voice their opinions regarding school district policy, boundaries, finances, or other responsibilities of the Board that have not been included in a regular board meeting agenda are encouraged to speak at the open forum which is held at the start of each monthly board meeting or ask the Team of Eight.
Please note: Board members discourage citizens from providing anonymous information in any form, and, in general, will not act upon it.
