MISD Board of Trustees Lowers Property Tax Rate by 18.5 Cents

The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved an M&O tax rate of $0.7575 per $100 of assessed value, and an I&S rate of $0.37 per $100 of assessed value, resulting in a total tax rate of $1.1275 for the 2023–2024 fiscal year—an 18.5 cent decrease compared to the previous year’s tax rate.

Sperry Dedication, Stellar Design and Sold Out Shows Make for Grand Opening at MHS Performing Arts Center

On Jan. 31, 2019, a new era dawned in McKinney High School fine arts as the district officially opened the brand-new, 1,000 seat MHS Performing Arts Center. District officials also unveiled the Sperry Performance Hall, named in honor of longtime member of the Board of Trustees, Lynn Sperry, and her husband Neil for their staunch support of MISD fine arts. And, the MHS production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” enjoyed a near-capacity audience that night followed by two sold out performances to round out a highly successful three-show run.
