McKinney ISD held its annual district Spelling Bee on January 16 at Faubion Middle School. Here, we talk with the top six competitors about how they prepare for those moments at the microphone.

McKinney, TX — McKinney ISD hosted its annual Spelling Bee on January 16 in the Faubion Middle School auditorium, and six students took the top spots to advance to the county Spelling Bee in February. We meet the six competitors and gain some insight into their strategies for the night’s event.

3rd Place – Matthew Johnson – Faubion Middle School
4th Place – Desmond Hendrix – Press Elementary

6th Place – Colin Pacheco – Cockrill Middle School
