2019 MISD Graduations in Pictures
McKinney, Texas – When 2019 McKinney North High School Valedictorian Abigail Fuller crossed the stage at the Allen Event Center on Friday, May 31 to receive her diploma, she became the first of nearly 1,800 McKinney ISD graduates who would take those brief but life changing steps from high school senior to high school graduate.
The day’s celebrations began at 9 a.m. when the first strains of “Pomp and Circumstance” drifted over the family and friends gathered in attendance, and the 2019 graduates of McKinney North were led onto the floor of the event center by teachers, administrators and the MISD Board of Trustees.
It continued at 1:30 p.m. when the graduates of McKinney Boyd High School flooded the floor of the arena in a wave of brilliant red caps and robes.
And, the day reached its finale at nearly 8 p.m. when McKinney High School’s Melissa Zuniga became the final MISD graduate to be called to cross the stage and receive a diploma.
A roaring cheer rose from the crowd, celebrating the nearly 700 MHS graduates seated before them, giving voice to the weight and significance of the last 13 years—and the joy of reaching this day, at last.
And, rightly so.
To the graduates of McKinney North, McKinney Boyd and McKinney High School we congratulate you on your accomplishment. And, as you continue on your journey, we wish you all the best.
