MISD Preschool Program

MISD Expands Childcare to Public – Limited Spots Available

Starting January 3, 2023, MISD Childcare Programs will welcome a select number of non-employee children into their all-day childcare program at McKinney High School. This program offers a preschool experience for children 2 years through prekindergarten. The program has traditionally been offered only to MISD employees. However, space has allowed for a few additional spots open to the public.

Program hours are 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. on all school days and required teacher/staff workdays. The daily schedule includes: circle time, math and language centers, art, story time, indoor/outdoor play time and afternoon enrichment activities. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are served each day.

The McKinney ISD Preschool Program is under the direction of a certified teacher and a highly trained staff. Our current director is a McKinney High School alumna and participated in the Child Guidance Program at McKinney High. She attended college at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene and started her career as a first-grade teacher in Prosper with a total of 17 years working with children. The center is licensed by the Department of Health and Human Services and is inspected regularly.
