Faubion Middle School

Ms. Turner brings over three decades of educational and teaching experience to Faubion Middle School. Prior to arriving in McKinney ISD, Ms. Turner served as principal of Surry Early College High School of Design in North Carolina for two years. During her tenure at Surry, the high school was ranked as one of the top 10 high schools in the state.

Ms. Turner served as principal of Shoals Elementary School in Pinnacle, North Carolina for five years after serving as assistant principal in 1999. From 1992 to 1995, she served as Director of Title 1 Federal Programs for Surry County Schools while co-authoring a professional development program for elementary and middle school teachers entitled, Developing Efficient Readers.

Earlier this year, Ms. Turner was honored by Surry Early College High School of Design as the namesake for an annual award given at the end of the school year. The Patsy Turner Award for Good Character and Leadership is presented to one selected student in each grade who exhibited academic excellence, good character, positive attitude and continuing leadership throughout the school year.

Ms. Turner earned a Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from North Carolina State University.
