McKinney, Texas – With the 2019-2020 school year now in full swing, it’s a great time to revisit one of the most convenient and easy to use tools that students can utilize to enhance school safety—tip411.

Introduced on McKinney ISD campuses in 2013 through a joint effort by MISD and the McKinney Police Department, tip411 is a communication system that gives students—or any concerned citizen—a means to quickly and anonymously report suspicious or criminal behavior.

Click here to visit MISD’s tip411 page which includes campus keywords and links for submitting a tip online.

Anyone with a cell phone can send an anonymous tip to the McKinney Police Department by texting a campus-specific keyword and tip information to 847411 (tip411). Tips can also be made online on the district’s tip411 page.

Please note: tip411 is not a substitute for calling the Police Department to report any in-progress incident. If an immediate response is needed, please dial 9-1-1 in cases of emergency or 972-547-2700 if no emergency exists.

Last year, campus SROs received more than 2,300 tips through the tip411 system.

Tip411 is part of a comprehensive MISD school safety program that includes, but is not limited to: school resource officers at each secondary campus and two school resource officers assigned to elementary schools; 1,800 security cameras across the district; security vestibules and lockdown buttons at every campus; video-monitored school buzz-in systems across the district; and multiple security cameras on every MISD bus.

Below is a list of MISD schools and tip411 keywords, which can also be found on the district’s tip411 page.
