McKinney, Texas — McKinney ISD continues to offer its high school students a comparatively low-cost opportunity to prepare for college entrance exams with a ZAPS® PSAT/SAT one-day test preparation seminar on October 14, 2019.

Presented by Doorway to College Foundation (D2CF), the seminar offers professional test preparation for $75—a cost that has been discounted by ZAPS and is substantially lower than some of the other test prep offerings available on the market.

“McKinney ISD is proud to continually offer test preparation to open up opportunities for students,” said Marita Cleaver, MISD coordinator of advanced academics and LOTE. “Our focus is on student success, and we strive vigorously toward that goal each day. College choice, affordability and access to exciting careers are what make our country the best place to live and have a fulfilling career. To support our students, we offer these courses at an affordable rate and have scholarships for eligible students available, so that every child has the chance to an open door to any college of their choice.”

According to ZAPS, in an independent study involving 170 students who took the SAT before and after attending a ZAPS SAT seminar presented by D2CF, students with subject scores of 500 and above before attending the ZAPS seminar saw an average increase of 29.2 points on their Reading and Writing scores and 21.9 points on their Math scores. Students with subject scores below 500 before the ZAPS seminar saw an increase of 49.4 points in Reading and Writing and 31.5 points in Math.

In the five-hour PSAT/SAT seminar, students will—
—learn tips to improve in all subtests
—practice strategies to eliminate wrong choices
—take short practice tests that mirror the test experience
—reduce test anxiety and gain confidence
—receive extensive materials for home practice
—and much more!
