McKinney, Texas – It’s that time of year again…time to begin thinking about next year. And, that means it’s time to start thinking about student enrollment.

In an effort to make the 2018-2019 enrollment process smoother and more convenient for parents, McKinney ISD will launch a new online enrollment system on May 1, 2018 using a PowerSchool software platform called InfoSnap.

MISD Chief Information Officer David Spann said that InfoSnap promises to be a richer experience for parents over the previous system.

“Historically, InfoSnap has been a very stable environment and has been highly reliable. It’s a proven solution, and it’s been around for a long time,” he said.

There are several steps involved in the enrollment process, and the place to start is the district’s student enrollment webpage which offers a link to InfoSnap, a guide to the process and an FAQ section that may prove helpful. Click Here.

All MISD parents must create an account in InfoSnap, and parents of students new to MISD in 2018-2019 can access and begin using the system on May 1. Parents of returning students will receive a “SnapCode” in July that will allow them to set up their InfoSnap account.

Once returning parents have set up an account, they will be able to access and update their children’s information. Parents should note that the system will send out a SnapCode only to the person listed in the system as Contact #1 for each returning student. Additional information regarding SnapCodes for returning students will be released as we get closer to July.

InfoSnap is mobile friendly and more user friendly than the previous eSchoolPLUS system, but if parents encounter difficulty during the process, technical support is available.

“Parents will be able to interface with PowerSchool employees on any tech support that they need as they’re going through the process,” Spann said. “We’re always going to be there to help them, but the system does have tech support.”

Additional technical information is available online on PowerSchool’s website here. If a parent forgets his or her user credentials, they may have them e-mailed and/or use security questions set up previously to retrieve the information.
