McKinney, Texas – McKinney ISD has been named a 2016 “Best Place to Work” by the Dallas Business Journal and is the only school district to make the list this year.

“What makes this award so special is that it is based on feedback from our employees,” said MISD Assistant Superintendent and Chief Human Resources Officer Tamira Griffin. “It’s the people of MISD that truly make it one of the best, if not the best, places to work in the metroplex and beyond.”

McKinney ISD Chief Financial Officer Jason Bird accepts a plaque from Bill Hethcock of the Dallas Business Journal on behalf of the district. McKinney ISD is one of only 10 organizations selected for Best Places to Work recognition in the Extra-Large Business category for 2016.

For 14 years, the Dallas Business Journal has highlighted outstanding North Texas organizations in five classifications—micro, small, medium, large and extra-large—through its Best Places to Work feature.

MISD is one of only 10 Dallas area businesses in the Extra-Large Business category to be selected for this year’s recognition. Also recognized in the same category are Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation, Brinker International, Capital One, CBRE, Children’s Health, Essilor of America, Gaylord Texan, Methodist Health System and Service King.

“I’m glad that the Dallas Business Journal was able to discover what we’ve always believed to be true about McKinney ISD,” said MISD Superintendent Dr. Rick McDaniel, “that we are an organization filled with uniquely talented individuals who have a desire to make McKinney ISD a first class organization at every turn.

“The people in this district—specifically the teachers and their desire to operate within a culture of family—make this place special, and I’m proud to be a part of it,” said McDaniel.
