McKinney ISD Athletics Hall of Honor - Class of 2020

McKinney, Texas – On Friday, Jan. 24, McKinney ISD officials, family and friends gathered for a special luncheon at the MISD Stadium and Community Event Center to honor and celebrate the seven individuals and one team who make up the MISD Athletics Hall of Honor Class of 2020.

Introduced in 2015, the Hall of Honor recognizes former athletes and coaches who have left their mark not only on the history of MISD athletics and the broader world of athletic competition, but on the people who have encountered them along the way.

The Class of 2020 is (Senior Era) McKinney High School’s James Thornton, Johnny Holley, Darla Sessom, (Modern Era) McKinney North High School’s Colin Bado and Kathy Shelton and Empress Drane from McKinney High School.

Rounding out this year’s class of inductees are the 1986 McKinney High School Lions football team, who advanced to the 4A state championship game, and Randall Hales, who collected more than 400 wins as the MHS head baseball coach from 1984–2004.
