Karime Terrazas—Webb Elementary Principal

Head shot of Karime TerrazasMcKinney ISD announced at its meeting of the Board of Trustees on Monday, May 13, that it has chosen Frazier Elementary Assistant Principal Karime Terrazas to serve as the new principal of Webb Elementary. Terrazas brings 24 years of experience in education to her new position, including 17 years in administration.

The job at Webb became available in April when current Webb Principal Maria Hafner was chosen to be the new principal of Wolford Elementary.

With Terrazas looking toward the upcoming move to Webb, she had heartfelt words for the Frazier community. “I am confident that the strong foundation we have built together at Frazier will continue to thrive,” she said in a letter to parents and staff. “I have every confidence in the capabilities of our dedicated staff and the unwavering commitment of our parents to uphold the values and principles that define our school.”

In a career spanning 24 years, Terrazas has served in Irving, Lewisville and McKinney ISDs, launching her career as a classroom teacher and then moving into school administration within a few years. She came to MISD in 2018, to join the staff at Minshew Elementary as assistant principal. In 2023, as MISD prepared to open Frazier Elementary for its inaugural year, Terrazas was the choice to serve as the school’s first assistant principal. Now, she prepares for her new leadership role as principal of Webb Elementary.

“I want to express my commitment to the journey that lies ahead,” Terrazas wrote in an introductory letter to Webb parents. “I will work tirelessly to ensure we have ‘The Greatest School’ in McKinney ISD for your children and their future. Together, I am confident that we can continue to build upon the rich legacy that defines our Webb School Family and make sure that every student has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.”

Terrazas earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas in Arlington.

Becky Jackson—Director of Data and Analytics

Head shot of Becky JacksonMISD also announced at the May board meeting that Becky Jackson has been named Director of Data and Analytics for the district. With 22 years in public education, including 13 years of leadership experience focused on using data to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes, Jackson brings a wealth of expertise to her role.

Beginning her career as a 7th grade math teacher at a Title I campus in Plano ISD, Jackson’s journey has been marked by a commitment to leveraging data for student success.

From serving as a Title I math instructional coach to her recent position as a school improvement coordinator, she has consistently demonstrated a teacher’s heart, ensuring that all stakeholders understand and utilize data effectively. Her efforts were instrumental in earning recognition for Bowman Middle School as a 2014 Texas School to Watch.

Jackson’s academic journey, including a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, a master’s in mathematics curriculum and instruction and ongoing pursuit of a Ph.D. in educational psychology with a focus on research, measurement and statistics through the University of North Texas, underscores her dedication to advancing educational practice through rigorous research and analysis.

With her passion for collaboration and data-driven decision making, Jackson looks forward to serving MISD staff and students in her role as Director of Data and Analytics.

“I am excited and honored to join the McKinney ISD family,” she said. “With a deep commitment to leveraging data-driven insights to enhance educational outcomes, I am enthusiastic to support McKinney ISD’s mission to engage, educate and empower every student, every day.”
