Scott Johnson Middle School Bond Update – August 2022
Scott Johnson Middle School is receiving a campus refresh using 2021 bond dollars. SJMS’s bond projects are being completed in two phases. Phase one (2022) updates include: Fire Alarm System; HVAC Equipment, Ductwork and Energy Management Control System; Carpet and Base; All Interior Finishes (Flooring, Base, Wall Finishes, and Ceilings); LED light fixtures (including Occupancy Sensors in Classrooms, Offices, Hallways); Counter Tops, Windowsills; Liquid Marker Boards / Tack Boards; Interior Doors, Door Signs; Toilets, Toilet Partitions and Wash Stations in Restrooms; Plumbing Fixtures including Water Fountains and Fillers; Furniture; and Athletic Field Resurfacing.
SJMS’s phase two (2023) updates will include: Parking Lot Lights and Exterior Wall Packs with LED Fixtures; Exterior Doors; Exterior Sidewalk, Landscape and Irrigation; Restripe Parking Lots and Fire Lanes; Exterior Brick and Reseal Brick and Expansion Joints; Clean Flatwork and Parking Lots and Reseal Concrete Joints; Security Vestibule; and Laminate Wall Protection Panels;
In addition to these items, all schools are receiving improvements in the following areas: safety and security (cameras, lock-down buttons, and infrastructure), and technology (network systems, data storage, public-address systems, bell systems, clocks, and audio/visual equipment).
