From colorful crafts to fascinating ocean exploration, MISD Summer Enrichment Camps have something for everyone.
MISD is offering weekly Summer Enrichment Camps this year, conducted by MISD teachers for children in kindergarten through 5th grade.
Students will absolutely love the fun, creative activities that MISD teachers have created for them. Each camp will provide a safe camp experience, full of amazing summertime memories.
Camps begin on June 6 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Friday. You do not have to be a resident of McKinney or a student in McKinney ISD to attend camps. Camps are $105 per camp/per student. Register now to reserve your child’s spot.

On Thursday, April 7, McKinney ISD officials, campus administrators, teachers, family and guests gathered at the MISD Community Event Center to honor the 2021–2022 MISD Campus Teachers of the Year and, from among them, to name the MISD Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so the McKinney ISD Guidance and Counseling Department’s P.O.W.E.R. Parenting program is launching an online, self-guided course called Keep Talking: Mental Health Awareness for Parents. The course provides an opportunity to learn about common mental health conditions, resources for assistance and wellness practices that will support families.
In the far-flung reaches of the northern Collin County countryside, the MISD “Battle of the Blues” Physics Olympics made its highly anticipated return on Tuesday, March 29, after a 2-year hiatus. At stake was another year’s worth of bragging rights with 19 teams from McKinney Boyd High School, McKinney High School and McKinney North High School vying for physics glory.
In February, nine 4th and 5th grade MISD students qualified for the MathCon National Finals in Chicago, which took place this past weekend. Five of the MISD qualifiers attended, and Cache Langton from Valley Creek earned an Honorable Mention!

MathCon is a national online math test that features 38 math questions to be completed within 45 minutes. The highest scorers are invited to the National Finals.

McKinney ISD has partnered with the Society of Plastics Engineers and Manner Polymers to pilot a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Club at Faubion Middle School that will be the first ever cohort of its kind in the state of Texas.
Three McKinney ISD Gifted and Talented 4th and 5th-grade teams—competing among 200 other groups—swept the podium in the Dallas Regional competition of the Stock Market Game. Those three teams also finished 7th, 9th, and 17th in the state, respectively, from among 1,350 other teams, across all competition grade levels.
