Against the backdrop of a beautiful spring evening, MISD leaders gathered on Thursday, April 10, at the McKinney ISD Community Event Center with teachers, administrators, family members and community leaders for one of the most highly anticipated events of the school year—the MISD Teacher of the Year Dinner.

The annual Teacher of the Year Dinner is a celebration that brings together the 31 most outstanding teachers from across the district, chosen by their colleagues for their dedication, passion and innovation to represent their campus as exemplars of the profession.

The Women of Inspiration award aims to showcase McKinney's exceptional women who transform our community through advocacy, business innovation, thought leadership, and unwavering determination. This year's honorees represent a rich tapestry of professions and passions that reflect McKinney's vibrant community. These women have shaped our city through their dedication to service, entrepreneurial spirit, and visionary leadership.

Spots Still Available at Caldwell Dual Language Academy for 2025–26

McKinney ISD’s Caldwell Dual Language Academy still has limited openings for the 2025–2026 school year. Families interested in this unique two-way dual language program must complete an online application.

Once accepted into the program, families will complete enrollment and registration through the district’s standard enrollment process.

A Place of Hope: Serenity High Annual Fundraising Breakfast Brings in $41,000

Serenity High is a small school that makes a big difference. If you didn't know it was there, tucked away on the south side of McKinney North High School, you could easily miss it. But, for the students who have attended Serenity, this small high school has had a huge impact.

On April 8, McKinney ISD officials and community members came together at the MISD Community Event Center for the annual Serenity High Fundraising Breakfast to support, celebrate and reflect on the work of Serenity.

The event raised $41,000 for Serenity—one of the very few public recovery high schools in the country.

Bennett Elementary's Aniyah Joyner has Poem Published After Taking Top Prize

Congratulations to Bennett student Aniyah Joyner whose poem "Different Things" won 1st Place in the 2nd grade category of the Mockingbird Poetry Society's 54th Annual Collin County Poetry Contest! Her poem has been published in the Mockingbird Poetry Society's book of winning poems for 2025!

Well done, Aniyah!

WFAA — Four McKinney Friends Beat the Odds, Get the Opportunity to Serve

WFAA's Sean Giggy shares the story of McKinney North seniors Joaquin Vargas, Brandon De Vun, Reed Hisle and Jack Flannery, who have all been accepted to military service academies.

Graduation 2025 - Friday May 23, 2025

Join the graduation ceremonies Friday, May 23, 2025 at Credit Union of Texas Event Center (200 E. Stacy Road #1350, Allen, TX 75002). Times are as follows: McKinney North High School at 9:00am; McKinney Boyd High School at 1:00pm; McKinney High School at 5:30pm. Live streaming video of the graduations will be available at the link below.
