McKinney, Texas — Against the backdrop of a beautiful spring evening, MISD leaders gathered on Thursday, April 10, at the McKinney ISD Community Event Center with teachers, administrators, family members and community leaders for one of the most highly anticipated events of the school year—the MISD Teacher of the Year Dinner.

The annual Teacher of the Year Dinner is a celebration that brings together the 31 most outstanding teachers from across the district, chosen by their colleagues for their dedication, passion and innovation to represent their campus as exemplars of the profession.

The dinner is an annual tradition dedicated to honoring these remarkable educators and to select the Elementary Teacher of the Year and Secondary Teacher of the Year who will go on to represent MISD in the Region 10 competition.
McKinney Mayor George Fuller speaks at the Teacher of the Year Dinner for the final time before his term of office comes to a close. Fuller has made it a priority to express his appreciation for MISD educators at the Teacher of the Year Dinner each spring, at times leaving other events to be at the dinner. "Thank you for what you do," he said in his remarks. "Thank you for who you are, and you have the proudest mayor in the world."
Each Campus Teacher of the Year took part in a portfolio review and interview with a panel of judges to determine who will go on to represent McKinney ISD in the Region 10 Teacher of the Year competition.
This year, MISD named Jaclyn Harrison, a 5th grade teacher from Valley Creek Elementary as the 2025 MISD Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Tiffany Scott, an AVID teacher from Scott Johnson Middle School as the 2025 MISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.
