Walker Elementary marked a historic milestone as students, staff, and community members came together to celebrate 25 years of excellence!

Named after Roy Lee Walker, the school hosted a special dinner welcoming past campus employees, followed by a memorable assembly attended by all students.

The celebration featured inspiring words from current Principal Michelle Baumann, founding Principal Ms. Beasley, and Mr. Walker’s daughter, Ms. Linda Rinn, reflecting on the school’s legacy and impact over the years. It was a night to remember for the Walker Stars, honoring the past while looking ahead to a bright future!

The Texas A&M Spark! program was in our Learning Commons all day today! 2nd and 5th grade Stars learned all about robotics and engineering ahead of STEAM night tonight. Pics of our 2nd-grade learning how to code Vex 123 robots to move from one point to another. Thank you again to Texas A&M's Spark! for an amazing day of learning and exploring!

In addition, the enthusiastic Walker student body honored the veterans present with an engaging “Military Medley,” which showcased a selection of songs that resonated deeply with the significance of the occasion.

Kindness Captains Kick-Off our Raise Craze Fundraiser! This is a unique way for us to raise money for our school while making an impact in our community. During this fundraiser, students ask friends and family for donations via the online Raise Craze platform while paying it forward by serving others. What a great way for us to teach our students the importance of kindness and gratitude while raising much needed funds. Students will spend time serving, not selling! Walker is Seeking Volunteers for our Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Committee! We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our SBDM committee. The Site-Based collaborative team plays a crucial role in shaping our school’s future. The committee reviews our campus improvement plan and addresses staff development needs to enhance our learning environment. We are seeking 2 parent representatives, 2 community members, and 2 business representatives. Community members must reside within the district, but business representatives do not need to reside in or operate businesses within the district. The SBDM committee meets twice a year, generally once in the fall and once in the spring.
