Walker Elementary

Principal, Michelle Baumann, is so very honored to serve the Walker community. With over 25 years in education, she strives to provide an exemplary elementary experience for students and their families. This is her second year as Principal of Walker following 16 years at Reuben Johnson Elementary (also in McKinney) with 8 years as the Principal there. She taught Pre-K, 1st, 2nd & 4th grade, served as a Behavior Interventionist, RtI Specialist and 4 years as Assistant Principal. In addition to MISD, she has worked in Bryan ISD, Driscoll CISD, and Cy-Fair ISD. Mrs. Baumann and her husband have two sons - Grant will be a freshman at McKinney High School and Dean will be a sophomore at McKinney Boyd High School.

The 2024-25 school year is the 25th anniversary for Walker Elementary. We plan to honor the history of our school with a Silver Jubilee Spring Fling on March 7, 2025.

Mrs. Young is entering her 4th year as the Assistant Principal of Walker. Before Walker, she served 1 year as the Assistant Principal at McNeil Elementary in MISD and 4 years as the District Elementary Math Coordinator also in MISD. She began her career teaching 4th grade in Crowley, TX and Fort Worth ISD, and then taught 5th grade as a Math/ ESL Instructional Coach and served as a District Math Specialist for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. She grew up out West in Sweetwater, TX, and then graduated from Abilene Christian University.  She and her husband have two beautiful daughters. Samantha attends the University of Oklahoma. #BOOMERSOONER. Our youngest daughter, Madeline, is starting her sophomore year at McKinney North High School.
