Minshew Elementary 20th Anniversary - In Our Twenties Era

Taylor Swift has enjoyed tremendous success with her “Eras Tour”, and Jennifer Larriviere decided to echo the popstar’s trend as our district celebrates the 20th anniversary of Minshew Elementary.
“We’re moving into our 20’s era so it’s about honoring the past, our journey to get here, and then it’s also having that vision for the future.” Larriviere is the current principal of Minshew, and she was honored to commemorate this milestone with current and past educators from the campus.
Welcome back! We hope you had a restful Thanksgiving break and are ready to finish the semester strong. Click here to read the latest Colt Express newsletter: https://secure.smore.com/n/c0fnk.

Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence at Minshew!
It’s hard to believe that Minshew opened its doors at the start of the 2004-2005 school year with just 700+ students. Today, we stand proud as a thriving community, continuing the legacy of our namesakes, Gary & Bobbye Jack Minshew.
This year, as we mark our 20th anniversary, we take a moment to honor the incredible impact Gary & Bobbye Jack Minshew had on McKinney ISD. From Gary’s dedication as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent, to Bobbye’s 26 years of inspiring students and leading countless organizations at McKinney High, their contributions shaped the foundation of our school and community.
Here’s to 20 years of growth, pride, and tradition. Proud to be Minshew Colts, and excited for the next 20!
Shoutout to our Out-of-This-World Teacher of the Week!
Mrs. Welsh is a true star! With endless positivity, unwavering support, and a passion for student success, she inspires everyone around her. Thank you for showing our students anything is possible!

We’re excited to announce our upcoming Book Fair! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore and discover new books. Students will get a chance to preview the selection on November 6th with their class. The Book Fair will be open for purchases from November 7th to November 14th.
To make shopping easier, you can set up an eWallet for your child, so you won’t have to worry about sending cash to school. Additionally, our teachers have created wish lists for books they'd love to have in their classrooms.
If you're interested in volunteering during the Book Fair, we would greatly appreciate your help!
We look forward to sharing the joy of reading with our students!
