These amazing staff members give so much of themselves every day and our campus is better because of them

The eggs are here and we could not be more excited!

Our incubator is set up and ready, and our first graders are already hard at work learning how to care for them. Now the waiting begins as we watch and learn together. We can’t wait to see what happens next!

As a STUCO Co-Leader and the mastermind behind our Read Across America event, she’s a true All-Star! We’re so lucky to have you on the team!

We love our counselor, Mrs. Hayes! She visited our first graders to read a story and share some "power tools" for communication. Our students are learning to solve problems with their words and not their hands!

Minshew STUCO Seeing a Need, Taking Action!

Our Student Council noticed some fellow Colts struggling with their laces, so they stepped up to help! Stuco hosted a Shoe Tying Clinic to provide peer coaching before the bell rang.

Leadership is all about identifying a need and filling it. We are so proud of these students for helping their classmates gain confidence and independence.

Smile! Tomorrow morning will be picture day for some of our students! We will take pictures for students that are in clubs and new to Minshew tomorrow.

5th Grade Research Mode: ACTIVATED These students have been working super hard on researching in Social Studies!

New worlds, old favorites, and everything in between. Our 5th graders took over the library, diving into their favorite graphic novels and mysteries. There’s no sound quite like the "quiet hum" of students falling in love with a good book!

Spring break is March 16th to 20th! We will see you on March 23rd!

We wanted to say a huge thank you to our incredible maintenance team! They are the first ones here, the last to leave, and the reason our classrooms are bright, our playgrounds are safe, and everything works the way it should.
To show our appreciation, we cooked them up a stack of fresh pancakes this morning!

On March 25th it is time for a few of our Minshew Colts! to take pictures that will be in our 25-26 yearbook!
Students that were absent or enrolled after picture day will be photographed.
Students that are in clubs will take a group photo for the yearbook. Make sure you are here on March 25th and ready to smile!

Who says recess has to be outdoors to be great?

We are so lucky to have dedicated indoor recess rooms that keep our students active and engaged, no matter what it’s like outside. We want to send a huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTA for their hard work and support in providing these spaces.

Our students loved visiting their buddies today to share some Read Across America magic.

Our 2nd graders are proving that one person's recycling bin is another person's art studio. They explored conservation by giving everyday objects a second life. Check out these incredible masterpieces!

We want to extend a huge thank you to all the wonderful guest readers who joined us for Read Across America! Our students absolutely loved having our parents, community members, school board members, central office staff, and Mayor Bill Cox share their time and favorite stories to create memories that will truly last a lifetime. Seeing so many familiar faces in our classrooms was such a treat, and we are so grateful for your help in inspiring a lifelong love of reading. Thank you all for being such amazing role models and for showing our students that the entire McKinney community is cheering them on.
