This year's Book Fair is going to be epic! Visit the McGowen book fair on the evening of March 11, from 4:30-6:00pm. Then head to the gym for the first-ever Math Night from 6:00-7:00 pm. Bring your family to this event and students will receive a free book bag for book fair shopping and math night goodies.

We are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage month at McGowen!

We kicked off our PTA Boosterthon fundraiser today. Your student came home wearing a lanyard showing how to register on MyBooster.com. All of the profits from this fundraiser goes back to supporting our McGowen students!

Watch Dog Dads kick off is Tuesday, September 24th from 6-7 PM. Following the kick off, our Scouts Program will have a meeting between 7-8 PM.

McGowen Spirit Week at Handel's is August 26th - August 30th. Stop by for an ice cream after school next week! Be sure to tell them you are with the McGowen PTA. 30% will go back to McGowen PTA. The PTA money is used for our McGowen students and teachers! Thank you for supporting our McGowen PTA!

Lunch visitors may begin on Monday, August 26th. All visitors must have a physical valid ID (photos of IDs are not accepted) to join your student at lunch. One of the visitors must be on the student's contact list in e-school. If your student has a grandparent or grand-friend planning on attending lunch the week of September 9th-13th, they must be with someone on the contact list or be added to your contact list. We realize that some of our buses have been arriving late to McGowen to pick up our students. I have communicated to Durham Bus Services and our MISD Transportation Department about this problem. I have asked them to communicate to parents when the bus is late. I realize this problem is very frustrating as a parent. Please know that I am working closely with the MISD Transportation Department to try to determine why our students' buses are running late. I apologize for this inconvenience.
