A Lockdown is used when there is a safety concern inside or very close to the building. During the drill, teachers will lock classroom doors, turn off lights, and students will move quietly out of sight. This practice is part of the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), which is used in schools across the country to help everyone know exactly what to do in an emergency.
We know these drills can feel serious, but practicing helps our Red Hawk scholars and staff stay safe and prepared.
Thank you for your support as we work together to keep our school community safe.

Dear Red Hawk Families -
Please be aware that today, Friday, September 5, 2025, Malvern Elementary students and staff participated in a campus emergency drill. This was a Fire Drill according to our Standard Response Protocol. Students and staff have discussed our campus emergency procedures and we will continue to review these throughout the school year.
Student safety is always our top priority and practicing these drills further prepares our students and staff for emergency situations.
For additional information regarding our emergency procedures, please visit our website. As always, we appreciate your support to keep our students safe and focused on learning.
