Dear Red Hawk Families -

Please be aware that today, August 18, 2026, Malvern Elementary students and staff participated in a campus emergency drill. This was a Fire Drill according to our Standard Response Protocol. Students and staff have discussed our campus emergency procedures and we will continue to review these throughout the school year.

Student safety is always our top priority and practicing these drills further prepares our students and staff for emergency situations.

For additional information regarding our emergency procedures, please visit our website. As always, we appreciate your support to keep our students safe and focused on learning.

Let's give a warm Malvern welcome to Mrs. Cassidi Beracochea. Cassid says, "Hi! My name is Cassidi Beracochea, I am so excited to be returning to a campus close to my heart. I taught special education in Resource at Malvern for 9 ½ years before beginning my career as an Educational Diagnostian and after a year and a half into my new position, I am returning to Malvern! Before coming to McKinney ISD, I taught in a bilingual early childhood program for children with disabilities for 12 years, so I have been working in education for 23 years.

I love what I do and enjoy the role I serve in identifying disabilities and helping with recommendations for services to support students in the school setting.

On a personal note, I have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 25 years and we have a 22 year old son who just graduated from college and an 18 year old daughter who is beginning her college career this fall. We also have a rat terrier mix who is like my third child, Lola. We are a big soccer family and have spent many years going to both, my daughter's and son’s games in high school, college and club ball. I love spending time at the lake on the boat, and in the sunshine and that is where I spend most of my summer break every year. I am looking forward to seeing so many familiar faces and to meeting new ones."
