This week’s Dennis Baker State Farm Scholar Artist of the Week is Ethan Larriva from McKinney Boyd High School.

Ethan is a 4-year member of the Broadway Broncos Theatre. He has earned several Texas Thespian Awards, including a perfect score for a duet musical at the State Festival and a Nationals nomination for the role of “Burr” from The Wild Party.

At UIL One-Act Play, Ethan received the Outstanding Performer award for his role as “Bryce” in Edward Tulane and an award for All-Star Cast Member for his performance as “Pa” in The Storm In The Barn. Through Broadway Dallas, he earned a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Performer for his role as “Karl the Giant” in Big Fish. Ethan plays several instruments, and he composed violin & guitar music for 2 UIL plays.

Ethan has a 4.5 GPA, and he has completed 5 AP classes and 2 dual credit courses. He is a First Generation and Hispanic National Scholar.

In his free time, Ethan volunteers within the community and works as a balloon twister for children’s parties and events.

After graduation, Ethan plans to double major in Theatre and Psychology with the goal of becoming a therapist. Ethan has received 21 callbacks after auditioning for college for theatre programs at the International Thespian Festival, and he is currently working through the decision-making process.

This week’s Dennis Baker State Farm Scholar Artist of the Week is Braxten Williams from McKinney Boyd High School.

Braxten is a member of the Bronco art program, and his artwork has been shown in student art shows in McKinney.

Braxten has taken 3 AP courses, and he is a member of the National Arts Honor Society. He has earned graduation cords for AB Honor Roll and outstanding NAHS attendance and participation.

In his free time, Braxten enjoys artistic studying, as well as practicing art and writing fiction. He is also a physically disabled familial assistant.

After graduation, Braxten plans to attend the University of North Texas to earn a Fine Arts Degree. He will pursue his goal of becoming a graphic novelist and author.

Sydney plays varsity basketball for the Lady Broncos, and she has won Student Athlete of the Quarter.

Sydney currently ranks in the top 8% of her class with a 4.5 GPA, and she is a member of the National Honor Society. She has taken 11 AP classes, and she is an AP Scholar.

Beyond the classroom, Sydney serves as a Front-End Lead at Market Street, and she volunteers 35 hours of her time each year.

She plans to attend college and earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Finance.

In appreciation of the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees, McKinney Boyd High School welcomed School Board President, Amy Dankel, to their campus.

Principal Dr. David Hodum took Ms. Dankel on a tour of the school that included a walk-through of the Evolv security system, checking out the refresh on the rotunda, several meet-and greets with faculty in the hallway and a lunch with the Principal's Advisory Group. Oh, and a very special serenade from the Fusion choir which provides the beautiful soundtrack for Amy Dankel’s visit.

Caleb currently serves as the vice president of the choir, and he is a 2-year member of Fusion, and a 3-year member of the Acapella Choir. He is an Aria Competition Finalist, and for the past 3 years he was a UIL Superior Soloist. He was selected for the All-Region Choir 3 times and for the District Honors Recital 2 times.

Caleb currently has a 4.61 GPA with 9 AP credits. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a 2-year member of the National Honor Society as well as a green cord recipient.

In his free time, Caleb enjoys working at Chick-fil-A and participating in the Young Men’s Service League. And he is a Worship Leader for the Youth Group at First McKinney.

After graduation, Caleb plans to study Church Music and pursue a career in Worship Ministry.

Cole is a senior, and he plays on the Bronco tennis team. He received the Tennis Sportsmanship award 3 times, and he qualified for varsity tennis playoffs twice.

Cole is ranked first in his class of nearly 600 students, and he is a National Merit Semifinalist. Cole is also an AP Scholar with Distinction and an AP Scholar with Honor. He has completed 14 AP classes, and he serves as president of the National Honor Society.

Outside of school, Cole is a state competition finalist with Texas DECA, and he volunteers with the Young Men’s Service League and the Samaritan Inn Homeless Shelter.

After graduation, Cole plans to attend college to major in Accounting & Finance or Mathematics.

Anoushka is a 4-year varsity letterman, 3-time regional qualifier, and 2-year varsity captain. She has earned multiple Academic All-District honors and the High Point Award.

Anoushka is an AP Scholar award winner. She has taken 10 AP classes, and she is as a member of the National Honor Society.

Beyond academics and athletics, Anoushka contributes to the Art Club and National Art Honor Society. She volunteers at Gracebridge, and she teaches swimming at the British Swim School.

After graduation, Anoushka plans to major in Political Science, minor in Economics, and pursue law school.

Andrea plays trumpet in the Bronco Marching Band and Jazz Band. She has also performed in the pit orchestra and full orchestra. Andrea’s achievements include: Marching Show Soloist for 3 years, All-Region Symphonic Band, All-Region Wind Symphony, Region & Area Jazz Band, 1st Division Solo Contest, 1st Division Ensemble, Outstanding Soloist, Outstanding Ensemble and UTA Jazz Festival Outstanding Musicianship.

Andrea has a 3.6 GPA with Dual Credit Classes, and she is a member of the National Honor Society.

In her free time, Andrea participates in photojournalism, and she volunteers with Community Garden. She is a Sunday school teacher at her church, and she is also a member of the Sunday worship team and youth worship team.

After graduation, Andrea plans to attend Collin College to major in Paralegal Studies and potentially minor in Music Performance.

EmilyKate is a 2-year varsity captain for the Bronco cheerleading squad. She has received the Boyd Cheer Leadership award twice, and she was awarded Academic All-District for the past three years.

EmilyKate is an AP Scholar with Distinction, and she is ranked 16th in her class with a 4.7658 GPA. She is a 2-time Green Cord recipient, and a member of the National Honor Society.

EmilyKate participates in the PALS Mentorship program and in YoungLife, where she serves as secretary, and she is a youth cheer coach.

EmilyKate plans to attend college, and she would like to study Social Work.

Meika is a 2-year member of the varsity Mixed Choir, Fusion and varsity Treble Choirs. She has received Superior Rating at Solo Contest twice, and she earned Top Region Choir Member twice. Meika was selected as the Outstanding Choir Member her Freshman & Junior year.

Meika currently maintains a 4.55 GPA, and she has taken 9 AP classes.
She is an AP Scholar with Honor, and she has earned Academic Excellence three times.

In her free time, Meika is a Contemporary Worship Service Leader at her church, and she has released originally-written, composed, and produced songs. Meika participated in the FIRST Lego League as Team Mentor, as well as the Robotics Competition and Tech Challenge at the largest FIRST organization in the world.

After graduation, Meika plans study Neuroscience at college and become a member of an A Cappella group.

On the golf course, Caleb earned First Team All-District honors in 2024 and 2025, and he was the district runner-up in 2025.
Caleb is a 2-time regional qualifier with a personal best round of 68, and he has helped lead his team to a district championship.

Caleb has taken four AP classes, holds a 3.74 GPA, and he is a 3-time Academic All-District honoree.

Caleb participates in the PALS Mentorship program and the aviation program.
He volunteers through the Student Athletic Leadership Team, and he works as a golf caddy.

After graduation, Caleb plans to earn his commercial pilot’s license and fly for a major airline.

He was selected 3rd Team All-District, and he received the Offensive Hammer Award for the Broncos.

Edgar has taken 4 AP classes, and he currently has a GPA of 3.5.
He has achieved the Academic Excellence award for the past two years.

Edgar participates in the PALS Mentorship program as well as the Student Athlete Leadership Team, and he works at Hideaway Pizza.

Edgar plans on going to college and playing football, and he hopes to help support his family in the future.

Daniel is a member of the Bronco Percussion, and he serves as Percussion Captain. He has earned the Outstanding Percussionist Award and the Musical Excellence Award. Daniel was selected for the All-Region Wind Ensemble, the All-Region Percussion Ensemble, the All-Region Symphonic Band and the All-Region Orchestra.

Daniel ranks 5th in his class with a 4.9 GPA, and he has taken 11 AP classes. Daniel is a 2-time AP Scholar with Distinction, and he has earned the Academic Excellence Award twice.

In his free time, Daniel enjoys playing piano, tennis, journaling, and he volunteers at numerous food shelters and community events.

After graduation, Daniel plans to major in Chemistry while studying the pre-medicine track to become a doctor.
He would love to continue his passion for percussion by minoring in Music. His top college choices include Baylor, TCU and SMU.

Keira is a 3-year varsity letterman on the Lady Bronco volleyball team, and she was selected for the 2nd team All-District.

Keira is ranked 3rd in her class with a 5.02 GPA, and she is an AP Scholar. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and she currently serves as the Vice President.

Keira volunteers at the Community Garden Kitchen, Baylor Scott & White and the McKinney Food Pantry. She also participates in the Young Life youth group.

Keira plans on attending college next year to study biochemistry.

Addison is a 4-year member of the varsity Bailadoras Dance Team, and a 4-year member of the Bailadoras Elite Team. She currently serves as captain for the team, and she has served as Lieutenant for the past 2 years. Addison was a member of the National Champion Team in 2023 & 2025 and the National Champion Officers in 2025. She was Regional Solo Winner for the past 3 years, and she was a National Top 5 Soloist in 2023 & 2025.

Addison has earned an Academic Excellence Award, and she is a 2-year member of PALS.

In her free time, Addison is a member of the Dance FX Studio’s Senior Competitive Team and a member of the Teen Competitive Company at Prodigy Dance & Performing Arts Center.

She participates in the National Charity League where she has volunteered over 300 hours, and she served as president in 2022-2023.
Addison is a “Mother Daughter Service” award recipient, and she works as a lifeguard for the City of McKinney.

Georgia serves as team captain for the Lady Broncos cross country team. She received the Freshman of the Year award, and as a junior she was selected as the Most Improved Runner.

Georgia currently maintains a 4.1 GPA, and she is enrolled in several AP classes. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the student athletic leadership team, and she participates in the PALS Mentorship program.

Next year Georgia plans to attend Texas A&M to study
psychology to become a child therapist.

Irelyn is a 4-year member of the varsity Bailadoras Dance Team, and a 3-year member of the Bailadoras Elite Team. She was a member of the National Champion Team in 2023 & 2025 and the National Champion Social Officers in 2025. Irelyn was selected as the Spirit Girl of the Week twice, and she was named Outstanding Sophomore. Irelyn currently serves as Senior Lieutenant, and she has served as Social Officer and Line Officer.

Irelyn has taken 4 AP classes, and she earned her Green Cord and Academic Excellence Award.

In her free time, Irelyn is a 15-year student at Pure Movement Dance, and a 13-year member of the Girl Scouts where she has earned the Bronze & Silver Award. She is a member of the Tejas Riders, and she volunteers at St. Judes.

Irelyn is a TVCC Cardette Fast Pass Recipient, and after graduation, she plans to attend Trinity Valley Community College & perform on the Cardettes dance team.

Julian is a senior at McKinney Boyd High School where he is in the AP Sculpture program. He has received superior rating at the Regional Visual Arts Scholastic Event and is participating in the state VASE on April 26th. Julian has received the Senior Award for Visual Arts, and as well as 2nd place at the Colin County Art Show.

Julian currently has a 3.6 GPA, and he has taken 4 AP classes. He is a member of the National Honor Society, and he has earned the Dell Scholar $20,000 Scholarship. Julian participates in AVID, and he works at Local Yocal Barbeque & Grill.

In his free time, Julian volunteers with St. Jude Catholic Church, where he is a member of the Youth Group.

After graduation, Julian plans to attend UNT to major in Business and Marketing.

She was the Girls Top Point scorer and member of the Student Athletic Leadership Council. Rebekah is a member of the National Honors Society, has taken 12 AP classes, and is a National Merit finalist. She has a 4.96 GPA and is ranked 8th in her class. Rebekah attends First United Methodist Church Mckinney. She works as a Lifeguard and Swim instructor and enjoys volunteering.
