We had the best time at Lawson Stadium Night. We got our picture on the Jumbotron and even had an appearance by Sammie the Sea Lion!
Although McKinney Boyd lost the football game to Allen 63-16, our spirits were high seeing all of your smiling faces. Thanks for coming out Lawson.
Thank you so much for participating in the October "spoil your teacher with snacks" initiative. They were so surprised, shocked (I only share with parents so they don't know about it), and grateful. Story Book Character Day was a hit! All of our Sea Lions looked so cute. We had a morning and afternoon parade to celebrate their character costumes. Best day ever! Thanks so much for your continued support as always to make these meaningful memories for our kids.
We can't let this month go by without highlighting our amazing Principal, Susie Towber. October is National Principal's Month and the 16th was National Boss's Day, so it's fitting that we had our own SUSIE day at Lawson! She IS the sunshine that lights up our campus, and we are so grateful!

Students who bring their Lawson Badge or wear a Lawson spirit shirt will be admitted free, but must be accompanied by a parent. Parent must purchase a ticket. Meet in section 109 by 6:30PM. Students will be recognized on the field during Pre-game.
Please join us in dressing up your Lawson Sea Lion as their favorite book character on Thursday, October 31st! This is an exciting day for all, and the kids look forward to it each year. Please know that we welcome this dress-up day with a couple of exceptions: No masks, face paint, toy weapons or props, or scary costumes. Please know that there is no obligation to participate.
Be on the lookout for pictures on SeeSaw on the 31st. Can't wait.
We had a great turnout for our second POPS meeting of the year. During this meeting, we talked about making schedules, including time for bedtime reading, outdoor and imaginative play, and first-then charts to use at home. Enjoy your resources and please send/comment pictures of your child using these great resources! We'd love to see our Sea Lions at work!
Did you know that October 11th was National Sausage Pizza Day? We did and along with Marco's Pizza on Virginia, we were able to feed our Lawson Staff! Big thanks to Jenny at Marcos for making this happen for the hardest working staff in McKinney! 🍕❤️

Library on the Go is an every day service (weather permitting) at dismissal. You can check out books under your students’ name and return to the cart or with your child when you are finished enjoying your books! We love getting books into the hands of our young readers!
