The word is out! We have an amazing staff at Lawson, and H-E-B thinks so as well.
Congratulations Mrs. Towber and Mrs. Mitchell for being nominated and recognized for your excellence! We are proud of all the hard work and love you pour into our school.

Let's give a huge round of applause to Alanna Abbene, our very own McKinney ISD Paraprofessional of the Month! 🌟 Your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. Thank you, Ms. Alanna, for your above and beyond efforts in supporting our students and families. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 🎉👏

“These kids that come to us that have never been talking before; then are talking in full sentences. They’re able to just fit into the classroom so effortlessly at the end of the year.”

Pre-K registration has started! Here is an info sheet on registering for Lawson.

Open House this Thursday from 4:30-5:30pm. See you at Lawson!
It's going to be a great night. We are so proud of our Sea Lions!

Welcome back, Sea Lions , families! We can't wait to see you after a week away! These first two days back might be a little difficult for our Sea Lions; it will take some time to get back into routine. Here are some suggestions for making that transition easier:
--Talk to your child tonight about how exciting it is to come back to school; they're going to see friends and teachers who have missed them and learn so many new things! Positive vibes help.
--Be on time. This is SO important to feeling connected and part of the classroom family. The transition back to school will be SO much easier if the routine is calm and expected.
--Go to bed early! This one can't be stressed enough. Our littles need 11-13 hours of sleep a night. That means for most of them a bedtime about 7:30 will help them wake up refreshed and ready to learn.
--Get everything packed and ready to go tonight. Clothes are laid out, shoes are ready, backpack is by the door, their blanket (if they brought it home to wash) is packed and ready. The more you do tonight together to prepare for tomorrow will also help build the excitement of returning to school.
We have 42 wonderful days left together. We're excited to make the most of each and every one!

Spring Break is almost here! March 17th-24th. Spring Break might also mean spring cleaning for your family. Please be on the lookout for books at home. It's important that they are returned on time so that others have access to our collection. Look for the Lawson barcode on the back.
Thank you so much and enjoy your break!

Save the date: Lawson Multicultural Night
See you there!

This week is Read Across America, the largest national celebration of reading! Thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate March 3-7 by reading their favorite books all week. At Lawson, we are celebrating this special week by participating in an optional, make at home Tissue Box Challenge. Here are some of our entries so far. We can't wait to celebrate reading.

See the flyer below regarding Caldwell Dual Language Academy!

In an abundance of caution, we are going to reschedule our IMPACT Night for April 3rd.
We appreciate you making plans to attend tomorrow, but with the continued weather conditions, it's best to keep our families safe and off the roads after hours. Thanks in advance for understanding. See you in April.

Happy ASO Day to Mr. Rob! You help our kids stay safe and are super present for our staff each day. We couldn't do it without you and wouldn't want to. If you see Mr. Rob this week, tell him how much he means to Lawson!

It's coming!
Our next IMPACT night is just around the corner-Feb 20th!
Please see our flyer for more details. We can't wait to see our Sea Lion families!

We have the BEST School Counselor here at Lawson and are grateful for her kind smile, her giving heart, and her connection to kids. If you see Mrs. Mitchell, please give her a much deserved "thank you". We love you!

It is only for certain elementary schools and middle schools. All students wanting to enroll at Lawson must reside full time in a home address zoned for McKinney ISD.
