"Look Great. Feel Great. Do Great." Oscar Garza borrows this mantra from his friend & fellow volunteer, Jason Hernandez, as they join Kim Hughes and several generous community donors for a Back to School event at Finch Elementary. Students and parents geared up for another successful year with free hair cuts and school supplies.

Celebrating 100 Years of Fanny Finch Elementary
See video: https://tinyurl.com/3umvrzvf
“Raise your hand if you were teaching back when chalkboards were considered high tech?”
That seems like a crazy question unless you are addressing the audience of a 100-year celebration, which was the case this past January for Finch Elementary. Current teachers and students along with former students and staff gathered to celebrate the school’s one hundredth anniversary of being named after the legendary educator, Fanny Finch.

Storybook Pumpkin Contest is coming to Finch!
Celebrate fall and your favorite books by decorating a pumpkin as an elementary-age-appropriate storybook character. Pumpkins will be displayed in the Finch Library, and photos of the entries will be sent to an art class at McKinney High School to select the winners!
🏆 One grand prize winner will be selected from each group: K–1, 2–3, and 4–5. Winners will be announced at Finch Live on October 30 and will receive a goodie bag.
📅 Pumpkin Drop-Off: October 19–23
📍 Location: Finch Library
A few important reminders: Plastic pumpkins work great! If using a fresh pumpkin, please do not carve it or paint the entire pumpkin because it may spoil. Permanent markers or acrylic paint work best. Students may add hats, hair, glasses, fabric, and other decorations to bring their character to life. Please do not put the student's name anywhere on the pumpkin.
We can't wait to see our Falcons' favorite storybook characters come to life!
