Students and parents geared up for another successful year with free hair cuts and school supplies.

“Raise your hand if you were teaching back when chalkboards were considered high tech?” That seems like a crazy question unless you are addressing the audience of a 100-year celebration, which was the case this past January for Finch Elementary. Current teachers and students along with former students and staff gathered to celebrate the school’s one hundredth anniversary of being named after the legendary educator, Fanny Finch.

We are almost ready for our Back to School Bash!! Doors will be open from 1:00pm to 3:00pm! We will see you then!

We can’t wait to welcome all our new and returning Falcons at Meet the Teacher Night — it’s happening TOMORROW, Tuesday, August 6th from 5:00–6:00 PM!

Field Day is still on! We will monitor the weather throughout the day. Please send students with a change of clothes, extra socks, shoes, a towel, and some type of bag to hold their wet clothes. It's going to be a great day!

From March 4 through April 4, students from hundreds of classrooms across Texas collected thousands of pounds of plastic bags as part of H-E-B’s Annual School Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge. This year, 792 schools in Texas collected over 6.7 million plastic bags for the challenge, surpassing the previous record of 5 million bags collected in 2024. Nine McKinney ISD schools participated in the challenge that celebrates Earth Day, and Finch Elementary was one of them!
