In response to HB3, on August 14, 2023, the McKinney ISD School Board approved a measure allowing the district to implement a multi-layered security model, update local Board policy to allow McKinney ISD security personnel to be armed, and approved specific security personnel in McKinney ISD.
The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees has established an easier way for community members to connect with them.
Individuals are invited to “Ask the Team of Eight” by emailing their questions to [email protected]. The Board President or the Superintendent will either respond to the email or direct the message to the appropriate department. Copies of Team of Eight emails are distributed to all Trustees. Board members will receive ongoing updates regarding the issues or questions that are submitted.

McKinney ISD will add the annual 1:World laptop program assurance fee for students in grades 6-12 to HAC accounts on August 1. The fee is $74, or $37 for students receiving free/reduced lunch. The assurance fee covers students in grades 6-12 for laptop usage. Upon the first incident, the district will charge a deductible/repair fee of $50 to cover accidental damage, theft, fire, water damage or vandalism. Additional incidents will incur a repair fee of $125. Students who haven’t paid the annual assurance fee will be accountable for the full cost of any repairs or damage.
Students can make payments to the campus bookkeeper in cash or check. Online payments are available through the Payschools Central system.
STAAR student score reports are available via the McKinney ISD Home Access Center (HAC). High School End of Course scores were released and previously posted.
