McKinney, Texas — The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released its 2026 accountability ratings today. McKinney ISD leaders have completed an initial review of the results and are partnering with campuses to celebrate accomplishments, identify opportunities for growth, and determine next steps.
The Texas accountability system measures multiple indicators, including student achievement, academic growth, graduation rates, and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR). These measures provide information about outcomes for all students and specific student groups, offering insight into performance, growth, and readiness across the district. While accountability ratings are one measure of district and campus performance, they provide valuable information that helps leaders recognize areas of strength, monitor progress, identify differences in outcomes among student groups, and determine where additional support may be needed.
This year’s results reflect many strengths across McKinney ISD. For the second consecutive year, all three high schools earned overall A ratings, with each high school also increasing the number of distinctions earned. All middle schools earned A or B ratings, and multiple campuses maintained or improved their performance across individual Domains. These accomplishments are a reflection of the dedication of McKinney ISD students and the educators, staff, families, and campus and district leaders who support their success. In addition to the state accountability system, McKinney ISD measures performance through the McKinney Accountability System (MAS), which reflects the areas that matter most to our community and provides a broader picture of district and student success. “At McKinney ISD, every decision we make is centered on what’s best for students,” Superintendent Shawn Pratt said. “These results provide valuable insight into both our successes and the areas where we can continue to grow. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students, teachers, and staff, and we remain committed to ensuring every student experiences high-quality instruction, meaningful learning opportunities, and the support they need to graduate ready for college, career, and life.”
As McKinney ISD looks ahead, the district will continue strengthening the instructional practices that have the greatest impact on student learning and supporting educators in meeting the needs of every student.
McKinney ISD remains committed to working alongside students, families, staff, and the community to ensure every student has the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to succeed in school and beyond.
