What's on your Ballot
Your ballot will contain five propositions for McKinney ISD. Voters have the opportunity to vote on all five propositions.
Texas law requires every school-bond proposition to display the statement “THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.” This statement appears on all Texas school-bond ballots because property taxes are the source used to repay bond debt. In August, McKinney ISD lowered the total tax rate by almost 4 cents. All five propositions can be funded with that lower rate. If all 5 propositions pass, the total rate will still be lower than last year.
Separately, a homeowner's total tax bill can change because appraised property values are set by the appraisal districts, not by McKinney ISD.
