Instructional Technology

At McKinney ISD, we use instructional technology to enhance student learning, empowering students to become active creators and problem-solvers while keeping face-to-face relationships at the heart of education. Our programs and initiatives align with national, state, and district standards. To ensure a safe and equitable environment, every digital tool undergoes a rigorous multi-tiered review for student privacy, security, and educational value. By combining strict data protection and active monitoring with a shared commitment to digital citizenship, we partner with our families and community to keep our students safe, secure, and successful every day.

One to the World Student Device Program

In January 2015, McKinney ISD took a strategic step forward in its mission to prepare all students for college and career success by putting a MacBook laptop in the hands of every MISD high school student. In 2020, the program was expanded to include middle school students. Elementary students also have access to devices for in-school use.
