McKinney ISD is happy to provide Sora access for our students beginning Monday, October 27, 2025. Sora is a digital library that includes e-books and audiobooks. MISD recognizes that parents are the primary decision makers regarding their child’s access to library materials.  Parents and guardians have control over their child's access to digital library materials through Sora's Parent Controls feature. By logging into their child's Sora account via the SSO dashboard, parents can activate these controls and set a pin code. This allows parents to manually lock specific e-book and audiobook titles they do not want their child to be able to checkout. If parents would like a restriction placed on a Sora title to be applied to the school and classroom library, parents will need to email the campus LMS, who will communicate with all relevant staff and teachers. Parent Control access also allows parents to review books checked out in the Sora digital library catalog.
