November is the perfect time to express our thanks, and we invite you to join in showing appreciation for the amazing teachers and staff members at Finch Elementary who make a difference every day. We encourage you to share a few sentences on why you’re thankful for a teacher or staff member or how they’ve impacted you or your child. Simply fill out our Google Form with their name and your note, and we’ll deliver these special messages to their doors throughout the month of November. Let’s fill our school with gratitude and support for those who inspire and care for our students!

You can easily buy tickets by scanning the QR code on the flyer or from the signs outside the front of the school. All Falcons are invited to go on the field before the game for a special group photo. Let’s show our Falcon spirit and make it a night to remember!

MISD kicked off the 2024-2025 McKinney Community Action Network (CAN) series with a great turnout of more than 30 participants at Finch Elementary on Thursday, October 17!
After a welcome from Principal Erika Echegaray, Superintendent Shawn Pratt led the group through an overview of the program and then introduced presentations from Safety & Security Director Rusty May, Director of Athletics Jennifer Frazier and Director of Fine Arts Dr. Jared Critchfield.
Afterward, Echegaray and her team led the group on a tour of the school as the guests donned headsets that Finch uses to provide translation during events and parent meetings. They also provide a great communication tool while moving quietly around a school campus!
McKinney CAN meets four times a year at different schools to provide participants with in-depth knowledge about the vision, goals, and operations of McKinney ISD. The program aims to ‘pull the curtain back’ on public education and McKinney ISD and to show our stakeholders how each department works to support campuses and our students.
Thanks to Principal Erika Echegaray and the staff and students of Finch Elementary for their hospitality!

**Storybook Pumpkin Decorating Contest!**
Get ready for some fall fun with our Storybook Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Students are invited to pick a favorite character from a children’s storybook and decorate a pumpkin to match. It’s a great opportunity to get creative together during Fall Break! Pumpkins must be turned in between October 16-18, and remember—no carved pumpkins, please! We can’t wait to see the amazing storybook characters come to life through your pumpkin designs!

**Fall Break Reminder!**
Our Fall Break is just around the corner! There will be no school from Friday, October 11 through Tuesday, October 15. Students will return to class on Wednesday, October 16, ready to finish the semester strong. We hope everyone enjoys a restful and safe break!
