We are so proud to share that MISD has been recognized as a District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA), ranking in the top 5.5% of Visual Art programs in Texas! To celebrate this amazing accomplishment, we hosted a Big Art Day on Monday, where every Falcon had the opportunity to beautify our campus through vibrant sidewalk art pieces. It was a fantastic community-based project that brought creativity and positivity to our school grounds. A huge shoutout to Mr. Taylor for capturing the entire day from above with his drone footage and to our incredible Specials Team for their support in making this project a reality. Sometimes, we all need a reminder of why we do what we do—and this project was exactly that. New & Returning Student Registration opens March 3! We have moved up our registration timeline for our returning McKinney ISD students. As we prepare for open enrollment, our priority is ensuring that all residential students secure their place in MISD. To help us serve our students effectively, we encourage you to complete your child's registration as soon as possible. registering early allows district leaders to make informed decisions regarding class sizes, teacher assignments, and campus needs. Snap codes for students who were enrolled with MISD as of February 20, 2025, will start going out the week of March 3rd. Parents will need to complete their student's registration to have access to their student's 2025-26 schedule (secondary) and homeroom teacher (elementary). https://www.mckinneyisd.net/page/enrollment

It’s common for elementary student to exchange cards and treats for Valentine’s Day, but last week 3rd and 4th graders from Finch Elementary gave away something even more sentimental: their hearts. The art students from Mr. Nguyen’s class created pastel chocolate boxes in the shape of a heart and had them delivered to patients in the ICU at Medical City of McKinney.

This collaboration between the hospital and the campus culminated during Valentine’s Day and Love Week as the ICU nurses visited Finch Elementary to pick up the art pieces. They returned to Medical City over the weekend and handed out the precious artwork to their patients.

💝 Spreading Love Through Art! 💝 Our 3rd and 4th graders poured their creativity into a special Valentine’s Day project in art class with Mr. Danh Nguyen, crafting a beautiful box of chocolates—but with a twist! 🎨🍫 Today, we had a heartwarming visit from Hassaan Baig, Myra Tapp, and Trista Smith from Medical City McKinney, who accepted the students' artwork and will be delivering it to patients to brighten their day.
