
MHS Wind Ensemble represented MISD well in the national spotlight at the Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis. They performed a powerful, sublime, and masterful concert and earned a well-deserved standing ovation and high praise from festival attendees and organizers.

McKinney HS Varsity Theatre presents Chemical Imbalance - a Jekyll & Hyde Play as part of their MISD HS One-Act Play Showcase. March 7th at 6:00 p.m. at the Sperry Performing Arts Center.


The Boyd Bailadoras continued their tour of domination. At the Crowd Pleasers Dance competition they earned Overall Grand Champion Select Team and Select Officers, Grand Champion Large Team and Large Officers, and 19 other 1st place or outstanding awards. Congratulations, Ladies!


The SJMS Tiger choir keeps getting bigger and better! These students sang beautifully, and they demonstrated polished concert etiquette. Great things are happening at SJMS choir!



Frazier's 3rd grade Fine Arts Night was a beautiful success. The music program, “We are Many, We are One,” and the art show, “Modigliani Self-Portraits,” were beautiful displays of artistry and social-emotional learning.

Ladies and gentlemen, your MISD 2025 TMEA All-State Musicians! These smiling faces are among the most elite performers in Texas. Their performances at TMEA were simply stunning.


Shout out to Lamar Smith, Director of Orchestras at MNHS! He was recently elected as the Orchestra Vice President of Texas Music Adjudicators Association. He will oversee and guide the training for orchestra judges throughout all of Texas. Congratulations, Mr. Smith!


MISD Music Teachers not only participated in abundant professional learning at TMEA, they led sessions and were recognized for their leadership. We are blessed to have the best!





Our middle school theatre department recently competed in the One Act Play contest where they performed student-ran plays. MISD earned a clean sweep, with FMS in 1st, Evans in 2nd, Cockrill in 3rd. Congrats! all our amazing students and directors for an incredible showing!
