The Lion Swing was the swingin-est place in town on Saturday night. Great jazz, a silent auction, tasty food, and amazing company made for a great night.

Hadestown at MHS was simply jaw dropping! The depth and attention to detail of every aspect of the production were phenomenal. The best part: the students guided the artistic choices throughout. This was not a typical high school production. Bravo!

Third grade Fine Arts Night at Glen Oaks was incredible! The STEAM theme of the choir program was arts integration at its finest, and the art show and sale amazed everyone. Kudos to the students, Mrs. Holt, and Mr. Flores!

Nineteen MISD art students punched their ticket to State VASE last weekend! Fifteen medaled and two earned the distinguished Gold Seal (pictured here). Our talented students and talented teachers set the standard for excellence in art education.

MBHS Fusion and MHS Marquette Officers traveled to Austin for Fine Arts Day at the Capitol hosted by the Texas Arts Education Campaign. Our students performed in the Capitol Rotunda, met with our State Senator and State Representative's office, and advocated for Fine Arts in public schools. All day long they impressed with their polished poise and professionalism and made a lasting impression on everyone they met. We are so proud! They represented MISD Fine Arts spectacularly.

The 4th Grade Combo Choir Concert with Press, Webb, Frazier, and Vega was a huge success! Great work, 4th Grade!

Standing room only for the amazing Eddins Honor Choir. Meaningful music, excellent tone, and the friends and family fan base were highlights of the evening!

It was an exquisite evening of fine music from these very talented MISD Strings players at the Honors Recital on Tuesday!

Mark your calendars to join the MHS Musical Theatre Company as they present Hadestown - Teen Edition on April 25, 26, May 1-3. Tickets available at tinyurl.com/mhstheatretickets

It was a gem of a performance for the Marquettes Diamond Anniversary Show! The students sparkled and put on a truly polished performance. Congratulations to our MISD students, directors, and guest performers.

Amy Tullos, Holly Bianchetta, Amy Arnold, and Kaylea Daubenspeck represent the best of the best! They teach music and art masterfully, and their students feel their deep care and love. Last night we celebrated them at the MISD Teacher of the Year Banquet.

MISD Choral Celebration was a smashing success! Fifth graders from all 21 elementaries performed beautifully. Thank you teachers, Dr. Knapp, Mr. Wilson, and students for two amazing evenings!

The future of stop-motion animation is bright thanks to the 5th graders at Finch Elementary! Lead by Art Teacher, Mr. Nguyen, students learned what it takes to create a fantastic film. What fun! #uplift2inspire #misdfinearts
