MISD 5th grade Choral Celebration! Congratulations to the Bennett Bear Choir members who participated this evening! Our 5th grade choir students participated in "training" today with a guest choir director.

The Bennett Variety show is full of courageous, talented bears. We are so proud of their hard work and willingness to share their talents with us. Students had a chance to preview performances on Wednesday before the full show Wednesday night. Thank you to our PTO for organizing the event and helping these bears shine bright! Our March/Quarter 3 CREED winners joined Ms. Halpin & Dr. Tillson for lunch and then they picked a book from our vending machine!
Our second graders recently completed their ELAR unit on Fairy Tales. Teachers incorporated several STEM activities using fairy tales! Cross curricular learning helps students make connections and builds memory!

Our 3rd graders began their cross-curricular unit today using the book "Lemonade Wars". They began by taste testing lemonade and graphing their favorites in different ways, followed by using sensory words in their writing!

At our recent open house, Mrs. D and her students showcased their clay making skills. Every class explored working with clay; from forming, molding, and painting they were able to try their hand at using this medium. Check out some of the talented artists at Bennett!

This week 2nd graders had the chance to try their hand at a Lego Spike build and code challenge. After reviewing with Mrs. Brubaker how to use and take care of their Lego kits, students worked in groups in class to build and code their builds to move. Check out a few pictures of Mrs. Vera's class!
A local coffee shop (Ugly Mug Coffee) asked our Bears to create their coffee sleeves for St. Patrick's Day! ☘️ We are thankful to our community and Ms. Daubenspeck for providing opportunities like this for our Bears!! Also... stop by for a cup of coffee!
Today, the Bennett Bears' Learning Commons hosted author/illustrator Jonathan Miller. Mr Miller shared his original art with us, talked about the process of making his books, and read one of his stories. We even got a sneak peek at his next book coming out in October. He'll be back for a short visit tomorrow afternoon to autograph these last chance orders!
On Monday March 9 our McKinney Mavericks competed at their Basketball Tournament! Students received Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals! Great job Bears, we are so proud of you!!! #proudtobeaBEAR

Thank you to our Bennett PTO! They hosted a silent auction in February and students won scooter races with the Principal and "Principal for a day" as prizes! We had some fun the last few days!! #proudtobeaBEAR
