The Lone Star Conference along with McKinney ISD, the City of McKinney, the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and the McKinney Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the 2019 NCAA Division II Football Championship at the beautiful McKinney ISD Stadium and Community Event Center on Dec. 21, 2019. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CST.
The game is shaping up to be a dramatic contest as the scrappy West Florida Argos return to the championship game for the second time in three years, having knocked off three undefeated teams on the road during the playoffs to earn their spot in the big show. Those included wins over the 2018 national champs (Valdosta State) and the 2018 national runners-up (Ferris State) plus a victory that ended the longest current home winning streak for Lenoir-Rhyne.
Meanwhile, Minnesota State rolls in with a flawless record, making their first appearance in the big show since 2014. They’ve turned back all challengers this season on their journey to the championship, including 2017 national champs Texas A&M-Commerce and the potent offense of Slippery Rock. Now, they turn their attention to UWF and a shot at the title!
