The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved the new calendar for the 2020-21 school year. The District will extend the school day next year at all schools by 7 minutes in order to start the summer a week earlier. The school start times will remain the same, but pick-up will be 7 minutes later. The first day of school will be held on August 13, 2020, which is similar to this year, but the last day of school will be on May 21, 2021. The tradition of having a week off at Thanksgiving and two weeks during the Winter Holiday will continue under the new calendar. The two bad weather days in April will become holidays if they are not needed to make up days canceled due to inclement weather. The new school start and end times will be as follows:
Elementary 8:00 a.m. – 3:07 p.m.
Middle School 8:45 p.m. – 3:52 p.m.
High School 7:30 a.m. – 2:37 p.m.
