McKinney High School Assistant Principal Kelly Armbruster has been selected by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) as the Region 10 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year. TASSP recognizes outstanding principals and assistant principals from the twenty regional Education Service Centers in the state. School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership. As a Region 10 winner, Ms. Armbruster is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Assistant Principal of the Year. 

Ms. Armbruster has served as an assistant principal for four years and has been a member of the McKinney High School administrative team since 2022. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University and a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.

Ms. Armbruster sees herself as an advocate for both teachers and students. As a 19-year member of the McKinney High School staff, she has a deep sense of pride in Lion Nation and is committed to creating a school where every student is known, every staff member is supported, and every family feels valued. She believes strong relationships are the foundation of a successful campus and strives to lead with integrity, compassion, and consistency. Through a commitment to excellence, Ms. Armbruster works each day to ensure McKinney High School is a place where students and staff can thrive. She considers her greatest professional accomplishment not to be awards or recognition, but the opportunity to positively impact the lives of students, support the growth of educators, and serve a school community she is proud to call home.
