McKinney, Texas — McKinney ISD and the McKinney Chamber of Commerce welcomed MISD's new teachers and staff members at the 2026 New Hire Welcome Breakfast at McKinney High School on August 3.
Superintendent Shawn Pratt, members of the Board of Trustees and MISD administrators were on hand to greet the district's newcomers, and more than 50 McKinney businesses and organizations filled the MHS concourse with tables and booths offering information and giveaways.
The McKinney ISD 2026 New Hire Breakfast took place on Monday, August 3, at McKinney High School.
In the MHS cafeteria, the new hires were welcomed by Pratt, McKinney Education Foundation Executive Director Karen Walker, Chamber President Lisa Hermes and Brandon Tomes of Tomes Auto Group—who served as Presenting Sponsor of the event.
The MHS Marine Corps JROTC brought forth the colors for the national anthem, and the MHS cheerleaders, Marquettes, Drum Line and Head Hunters gave the new staff a taste of an MHS pep rally.

Pratt thanked the newcomers for choosing MISD and investing in students. "If you are making a difference in kids' lives, and you love being on a team and making a difference every day, you're in the right place," Pratt said.
As the summer of 2026 winds to a close, these new employees join MISD's teachers, administrators and support staff as they make the final preparations to get the 2025–2026 school year underway.
It's going to be an amazing year, and we can't wait to get started.
