McKinney, Texas — McKinney ISD Superintendent Shawn Pratt is leading members of the district and campus leadership through a comprehensive leadership development series focused on building capacity and aligning leadership practices across the district.
The series is grounded in five core leadership domains: Communicator, Customer Service, Collaborator, Continuous Improvement, and Confidentiality. Each session is designed to deepen understanding and application of these competencies, equipping leaders with practical strategies to support campuses and departments while reinforcing a shared vision for student success.
Throughout the series, participants engage in structured learning experiences and dialogue centered on panels and real-world leadership scenarios. As Communicators, members explore how to articulate clear vision, engage stakeholders through meaningful discourse, and communicate with transparency. The Customer Service focus emphasizes cultivating positive campus cultures, building strong relationships, and leading with integrity, respect, and accountability.
The Collaborator domain challenges participants to leverage teamwork, think critically across perspectives, and unify stakeholders around common goals. In Continuous Improvement, members examine how data analysis, reflection, and ongoing learning drive effective decision-making and long-term success. Finally, the Confidentiality component reinforces the importance of professionalism, ethical responsibility, and maintaining trust through the protection of sensitive information.
“This leadership series is about intentional growth,” said Pratt. “By focusing on these core areas, we are ensuring that our leaders are aligned, equipped, and prepared to support our campuses and community with clarity, integrity, and purpose.”
Pratt’s leadership series reflects the district’s commitment to developing leaders who can effectively navigate complex challenges while maintaining a strong focus on culture, communication, and continuous improvement. Previous leadership training includes Jon Gordon’s Power of Positive Leadership and Power of Positive Teams.
